A Word from Our President, Larry Bizette:
According to Ephesians 4:11-12 it is the responsibility of pulpit ministers to teach saints to do the work of the ministry. As ministers in the workplace, it is our job to model Jesus Christ in our workplaces. Statistically, approximately 98 percent of the people in church congregations spend most of their waking hours actively working. Therefore, it is the responsibility of both sets of “ministers” to be “Kingdom” focused, bringing the Kingdom of God into the (world) workplace.
Larry Bizette, President CIBN Workplace Ministries
We [the Church] have been deceived into thinking the Kingdom of God will manifest in the future, that our perspective of “church” is reduced to a physical building, and the marketplace is a place where people are forced to work to survive. Unfortunately, except for salvation, many Christians do not have an understanding of who they are in Christ, or their divine purpose and calling in God’s Kingdom in the present, here on earth. Many Christians feel inadequate because they are business people and not “ministers.” But scripture is clear in that all believers are called to be kings and priests (Rev. 5:10) and most believers fulfill their kingly order within the marketplace.
Jesus’ ministry on earth caused a major paradigm shift changing people’s understanding of God’s Kingdom. Jesus referred to God’s Kingdom as present (Matt. 12:28), eminent (Mark 9:1), and in the future (Matt. 26:29, Mark 14:25). His focus was not on the temple but on taking the message of the Kingdom to the marketplace where the people were. Joseph, Daniel, Esther, David, Paul, Barnabus, Stephen, all biblical examples of marketplace ministers, understood that their focus must be about God’s Kingdom being alive and thriving within the workplace. If all believers would go to work fully convinced that they were on assignment and worshipping God through their labor, then they would feel empowered to make a difference - transforming their communities, cities and nations.
CIBN Workplace Ministries believes that as Christians working together, we have the potential to be one of the largest influential and economic forces in the world. CIBN is networking and unifying workplace ministries throughout the world, as a fortified strength empowered to go forth and to take possession of the world’s resources, so that God’s Kingdom purposes will be established in all the world; established in the marketplace, in government, in education, and in the arts and sciences. As we raise up this worldwide network of Christian business people, who are working in unity, practicing biblical principles in their vocation, and operating in the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit, we will impact and bring transformation to our cities and nations. This is in fulfillment of the mandate set before us to “fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” (Genesis 1:28)
